Movie Fan Theories That Make Way Too Much Sense

Movie audiences view movies from different lenses. There is always room for interpretation, imagination and speculation. This has led to several movie fan theories. While some theories are nonsensical and are quickly disregarded, some are eye openers as they make much sense. They sometimes cause audiences to see movies, their events and characters in a whole new light. Some theories have been spot on and the creators have confirmed the theories. Here are five movie fan theories that are quite interesting and are sure to make a believer out of you.\r \r 1. Titanic\r \r It is believed that Jack is a time traveler who went back in time to find Rose to show her how different life could or should be and help her escape her sad circumstances. This theory is supported by the fact that he mentions a few things that were not yet invented when the Titanic sank. Given the meticulous nature of this movie’s director, this is the only logical explanation. Jack mentions going ice fishing in Lake Wissota with his dad. The dam that created that lake was built five years after the Titanic sank. Jack also talked about riding the roller coaster on Santa Monica Pier. This place didn’t exist at the time.\r \r 2. The Wizard of Oz\r \r There are several fan theories surrounding The Wizard of Oz. One of them is that Dorothy is actually the Wicked Witch of the East. In the movie, it is observed that Dorothy encounters alternative versions of a number of real life characters but never one of herself. The Wicked Witch of the East is ever seen and it is suggested she is Dorothy’s doppelganger. The one thing we do know is that Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the East have the same shoe size and the red shoes fit perfectly. Isn’t that suspicious?\r \r 3. Aladdin\r \r For many years, Aladdin fans have hypothesized that the merchant who appears at the start of the film, who welcomes us to Agrabath is actually the genie in disguise. There are many similarities between the merchant and the genie which gave it away. They both have a sense of humor, they have four fingers and they are voiced by Robin Williams. After quite some time of this theory going around, the director confirmed that this fan theory was spot on. It was decided to omit the scene where the merchant admits that he is the Genie due to time constraints.\r \r 4. Grease\r \r One theory surrounding the movie Grease is that Sandy passed away at the beginning of the movie. Sandy "almost drowned," Danny says as he recalls saving her life in the song Summer Nights. Towards the conclusion of the movie, the couple's car takes off into the skies. Fans assume that Sandy was not actually saved from the water and that the entire movie is the final thoughts of her oxygen-starved brain. The ending depicts her ascending into heaven.\r \r 5. Finding Nemo \r \r There has been speculation that Nemo doesn’t exist and that Nemo is the manifestation of Marlin’s profound grief. The plot of Finding Nemo is centered on Marlin, a clownfish, and his quest to locate his son Nemo by swimming across the ocean. The clownfish develops this grief as a psychological crutch after witnessing the demise of his entire family at the beginning of the movie. Let’s not forget that in Latin, the word Nemo translates to “nobody” giving more credibility to this theory. Fans have been able to link Marlin’s journey with the five stages of grief, from denial to acceptance.\r \r
